I Want You

If you haven’t heard of him yet, get off your high horse and pay attention.  Theophilus London has got some serious stuff to say, and his DJ, an up and comer who goes by the name of MachineDrum murders on the beats.  Seriously.  This is one to pay attention to.

I came across this Brooklyn native a couple months back when I heard his earlier, This Charming Mixtape.  Now, with his third mixtape to date, entitled I Want You, he’s developed a sound that (in my personal opinion) is blowing everyone in the rap game out of the water.  It’s music for anyone, and it’s some really polished material.  Is it rap?  Is it dance music?  Does it matter?  This guy does it all, and he’s currently touring Europe with Aeroplane…

But hold up LA!!!  Hold back those tears, cuz he’s gonna be out here with none other than M.I.A., Die Antwoord, N.E.R.D., Switch, FlyLo, Rye Rye, and many more at HARD LA this July 17th.  Whaaaaat???  If that’s not one of the funkiest lineups we’ve seen out here for awhile, then let me know what is.  Buy your tickets now, because this will be the party of the Summer… or one up yourself and buy a double ticket for HARD Summer too (more on that later).

Whether you like the guy or not, no one can deny that this is something that hip-hop has never seen before.  You can grab his album (This Charming Man) on Itunes too if you’re diggin his steez as much as I am.
