MVM: Miike Snow @ Coachella

Posted 23 April 2012 | Post

No.  I did not go to Coachella this year.  Yes.  I wanted to.  No.  I did not want to spend that kind of dough.  So instead, I stayed home and watched #CoachellaLive.  Among some of the sets that were highlighted, Miike Snow got some camera time, and being that they are one of my favorite bands, I had to watch.  They’ve changed a lot since they performed 2 years ago in the Mojave tent… but damn, they still have one of the best sounding live shows ever.  Lead singer, Andrew Wyatt’s voice (ohhh… you thought his name was Miike Snow?)  is always perfectly on key, and somehow manages to sound eerily close to the recorded version of whatever song he’s singing live every time.  As for Karlsson and Winnberg… those two are heros.  And I’m not even going to pretend like I knew the amount of stuff they were doing onstage.  Overall, whether you were there or not, these recaps of their set (I believe it was recorded on the 1st weekend) are a perfect example of musicianship in every aspect of the word.
