MVM: Major Lazer – Get Free

There were a bunch of great music videos that premiered last week, so it was hard to choose which one got the Mondaze spot today.  My final decision was between Diplo’s “Set it Off” video which featured the best pole dancing in space that I’ve ever seen, and Major Lazer’s official video for “Get Free” directed by SoMe.  I ended up choosing the latter because of the amazing “day in the life” perspective that the video shows of the people of Jamaica.  The Lazer crew set out to the Rasta island in June with SoMe to film the thing and finish up the final parts of their upcoming album, “Free the Universe”.  I had seen an early cut about a month ago, but it wasn’t nearly as well rounded and beautiful as this final version.  If you’re wondering why it looks so unique and well composed, it’s because they shot the entire piece on film… unheard of these days.  You guys have heard of film right?
