The Weekly Shift

Greetings Shifty Nation!

We are back with another installment of the Weekly Shift, and it just so happens that this one, like many before it, includes loads of new music from some of our closest friends in the game…

To kick things off this week we have the debut EP from Random Citizens Producer and close friend of Shifty Rhythms, Brian Polar, titled “Parties & Bad Dreams”. Polar is one of the key members of the Los Angeles based Hip-Hop outfit, having worked together with fellow member Danny Parra on most of the crews productions. His first solo work comes to us in the form of a 5 track project showcasing the producers various musical influences and wide range of flexibility. Each track is unique on it’s own however the entire project sticks true to the concept and imagery induced by it’s title. Brian decided to release the EP entirely for free in conjunction with RudeToon Records via Bandcamp, so check out the previews on his Soundcloud below and pick up your copy for those late night wind downs…

Next up we have another release out of the RudeToon Records camp by our good friend Theme Night. The 22 year old Portland native just recently relocated to Los Angeles, and right off the bat he brings us a refreshing, energy filled remix. The remix is part of a three track package including versions by Beateaz and GrooveSapien of RudeToon Records and is available via Beatport. The following selection comes to us from our friend Jerome LOL, formerly of LOL Boys, and is titled “Forever/Never”. Jerome recently put up a two track mix on his Soundcloud titled “Happy/Sad”, with individual downloads to both songs, and it seems as though he is at it again with his latest work. The tracks are beautiful representations of Jerome’s eclectic production style. Both selections deserve a music lovers attention, so check out “Forever/Never” below and grab your free downloads for all four tracks HERE and HERE…

Staying on the subject of recently released music by our friends, last up we bring you the latest remix from the up and coming dynamic duo, gLAdiator. The boys have been making a lot noise as of late, having their music featured in recent mixes by Baauer and UZ, and have no intention of slowing down. In fact, their latest remix featured here, is of the Kanye West, Jay-Z and Big Sean track “Clique”, which just came out last week. Adding their signature touch to what is surely to become another hit song off of West’s new album “Cruel Summer”, the young producers pick up the energy and boost the bass, making this track club ready and fit for anyone looking to bob their head along with their crew.
