First up in this edition of “The Weekly Shift”, we have a brand new remix of That Work‘s “Soul On Fire”, by Los Angeles based DJ/Producer Yung Skeeter aka DJ Skeet Skeet. Most of you have heard Skeet Skeet’s name by now, but you may not know that besides being one of the best all around DJ’s the scene has to offer, he is also well recognized for his production skills. His latest work comes to us in the form of a deep house tune that builds off a sample from the original and progressively grows more complex, only to unwind naturally at just the right moment. Skeeter and That Work were nice enough to give this one away for free, so check it out below and grab your free copy via Soundcloud…

Our next selection comes to us from Oslo, Norway based producer Cashmere Cat, and is an edit of 2 Chainz featuring Drake’s “No Lie”. The up and coming producer has been getting attention from big name producers such as Brodinski and Hudson Mohawke for this track, as well as a recent edit of Jeremih’s “773 Love”, and rightfully so. His take on “No Lie” flips the chorus into a completely original idea, taking the listener on a journey beginning with the recognizable chorus he samples and revolves the track around, and winding down with enough melody, percussion, and gritty bass to have you singing along the entire way. Halfway through this weeks roundup, we bring you the latest work by Los Angeles based Producer and WeDidIt Collective member, Shlohmo. Having now thoroughly defined his lo-fi sample based, heavy bass sound, it is difficult for the young producer to do much wrong. This time around, Jeremih gets the crawl treatment, with the vocal present throughout nearly the entire remix, including portions which are pitched down, giving it that dark and slow vibe so many have come to love from many of Shlohmo’s productions. For our next selection, we bring you a cover by our very own Lemoine IV‘s (formerly known as Korova) new band, Breakfast. The band has been working on their debut EP for quite some time now, and could not be any happier to release it to the world for free. Not only that, but they have included their cover of Bone Thugs N Harmony’s “Blaze It” for free in the EP package as well. All of us here at Shifty Rhythms could not be more proud of our youngest member and the musical direction he and Breakfast are heading in, not to mention most of us have had the EP on repeat since we had heard some of the first tracks. To finish things up this week, we bring you the latest release from the Mad Decent/Jeffree‘s camp. This one comes to us all the way from Melbourne, Australia based producer Swick, and is high energy fusion of tropical bass and house wild enough to raise any music lover’s ear. The EP features “Bubbles” and “Protein Shake Feat. Lewis CanCut“, two tracks that are both equally powerful on their own, yet somehow cohesive enough to give the package a complete feel. Bubbles has been a staple in many of Diplo’s sets recently, so the track may sound familiar to some.
